Process serving is relatively unknown in Germany. In the Anglo-American law system it is an important subject to deliver claims or other legal papers to the defendants.

It is nearly impossible to follow up a claim without served papers and an affidavit confirming delivery.

When it comes to international process servings the Haag Convention is important as it outlines the rules on international law proceedings. There are different regulations depending on whether a certain state has joined the Convention or not.
